I’m noticing a pattern.

Entrepreneurs and business owners are reacting to their friends’ or colleagues’ recent successes with half-hearted celebration.

It’s not really because they aren’t happy for their friends or don’t want to be.

Instead, they’re thinking about what they themselves haven’t done or achieved in their own businesses.

They start comparing themselves to this other person’s success.

The Attitude of Accomplishment is about celebrating your own wins and the wins of others.

Celebration is joy and money likes joy.

Here’s the 3-2-1 on this aspect of the Attitude of Accomplishment.

3 TRUTHS

  1. People are one of our main resources to making the impact we want and comparing ourselves to them leads to a division in that relationship
  2. We are all on different paths, going at our own pace. We need to celebrate where we are on our journey and celebrate where others are on theirs.
  3. There is enough out there for all of us, so cast comparison, judgment, and jealousy to the side because we can each attain what we want to.

2 ACTIONS

  1. When someone comes to you, celebrate WITH them (and do it genuinely).
  2. When you find yourself comparing, refocus on what you have done instead of getting stuck in what you haven’t.

1 QUESTION

  1. Who can I celebrate and what can I celebrate them for?
