I always shake my head when I hear someone say, “If only I can hit the $100K mark then all my problems will be solved.”

The truth? There is no Promised Land on the other side of $100K. Or $250K or $500K either.

If you don’t change what’s going on in your head or in your heart, it won’t matter how much you make, you’ll have the same struggles.

Here’s the 3-2-1 on this aspect of the Attitude of Growth.

3 TRUTHS

I. An increase in our cash flow doesn’t fix our mindset. If we haven’t dealt with our money stories, the same problems we have today will be the intensified problems we have tomorrow, no matter how much we make.

II. An increase in cash flow doesn’t fix our systems. A broken or non-existent system for handling clients, income and outgo, or managing a team actually becomes more painful with growth.

III. An increase in cash flow doesn’t fix our leadership. Our weaknesses in leadership only become more apparent as we accumulate wealth. We only have to look to the social media influencers of this digital age to see the truth. Money does not equal leadership.

2 ACTIONABLE STEPS

I. On a scale of 1-5 (1 being “I need lots of help” and 5 being “Not a problem”), rate yourself in each of the following: Mindset, Systems, and Leadership. (Why did I rate myself this way? What am I missing? Who can help me fill in the gap?)

II. Identify one system in your business that needs improvement and make the time to review it. What is working? What isn’t? What needs to be added, changed, or removed to make it better? Then implement those improvements.
