A lot of people talk about abundance mindset in a superficial way.

There’s the idea that if I just believe there’s enough for all of us that’s it… more money flows.

This only scratches the surface of what a true abundance mindset entails.

Abundance requires action. It’s not just a matter of perspective or will. Abundance is something you have to choose into.

Here’s a perfect example.

A couple of weeks ago I was invited to be interviewed on a podcast by a competitor.

This podcast host shares the same space I am in – talking about the emotional side of money and coaching people to have healthier relationships with their cash.

My initial reaction was, “Why would I go on her podcast? She’s a competitor.”

I was able to call myself out, acknowledging scarcity had shown up in that moment.

When I stopped, checked in with myself, and leaned into abundance instead, my response changed. “Why wouldn’t I go on this podcast?”

This was a perfect opportunity for me.

By speaking with her, I got the chance to know a colleague directly that I otherwise wouldn’t have.

It offered the opportunity to know what makes us similar and what makes us different.

By having this conversation with her, I now know a trusted resource I can send people to when a potential client isn’t the right fit for me but might be for her.

Plus, I got to geek out with someone on my favorite topic and talk at a level I usually don’t get to. It was by far one of the most fun conversations I ever had.

I would have missed all of that if I had let scarcity win and turned down this opportunity.

We have to do more than change the internal dialogue around abundance. Simple acknowledgment is only the first step.

We have to show up and take action in a way that aligns with that belief.

That is true abundance.

Here’s the 3-2-1 on this aspect of the Attitude of Abundance.

3 TRUTHS

  1. Abundance is about recognizing we can all make money, even when we take up the same space; we can all thrive.
  2. When we shift our mindset to see possibility and opportunity all around us, we open ourselves to new people and expand our reach. This results in more money because money always follows opportunities and connections.
  3. Abundance doesn’t happen without action. An abundant mindset isn’t about willing the results we want and waiting for them to appear. It’s about seeing an infinite amount of potential and possibility and then taking the actions to produce the results because we know there is enough for all of us.

2 ACTIONS

  1. Identify where you feel there is a deficiency (income, time, resources, etc.) and reflect on why you feel deficient in that area.
  2. Explore how scarcity is showing up and reframe it into opportunity. Then take an action that shows support for this new, abundance-centered opportunity.

1 QUESTION

  1. What opportunities am I missing because I only THINK abundant rather than ACT abundant?
